♻️ What is LIFE re-WINTER

LIFE re-WINTER is a project with a clear goal: producing new skis from second-hand skis, creating a replicable model for the entire winter sports industry.

Every year, thousands of skis, boots and bindings reach the end of their lifecycle.

Until now, these materials have been difficult to recover effectively. This project changes the perspective: what was once waste becomes a resource.

🔁 How the process works

The project develops in three main phases:

1️⃣ Collection and logistics

Used skis, boots and bindings are collected through the Rent and Go rental network.

2️⃣ Recycling and re-processing

Materials are separated, treated and transformed into new secondary raw materials.

3️⃣ New production

From recycled materials, new high-performance skis are produced, ready to return to the slopes.

The project plans the production of 1,000 new pairs of skis made with recycled materials.

🏔 The role of Rent and Go

Rent and Go plays a key role in the collection phase. End-of-life skis, boots and bindings from the group’s rental shops will be supplied to the project for regeneration.

Private individuals can also contribute by bringing their used equipment to the following locations:

• Rentasport Kronplatz – Riscone
• Top Ski Rental – Selva di Val Gardena

Dedicated LIFE re-WINTER collection containers will be placed inside rental shops or near ski facilities.

Bring and donate your used equipment. With a simple gesture, you can reduce environmental impact and give materials a second life.

🤝 A European project for a more sustainable industry

The LIFE re-WINTER project is carried out in collaboration with specialized partners: Re-Sport (research and consulting), Innovando (logistics), diWorks (traceability and Digital Product Passport), Plastic Sort (polymer selection and separation), Völkl (integration of recycled materials into skis), Dalbello (integration into ski boots) and Marker (development of bindings with recycled materials and implementation of the digital passport). A complete ecosystem that makes it possible to transform end-of-life equipment into new high-performance products.

This project clearly demonstrates Rent and Go’s commitment to sustainability and the circular economy. It is not just about recycling. It is about rethinking the entire lifecycle of sports equipment.
