ARABBA: NEW CHAIRLIFT JOINS THE TWO SIDES OF THE SELLARONDA

Work began in mid-October and is to be completed by Christmas on the construction of the new six-seat detachable chairlift "6-CLD Arabba Fly" which will serve to connect the two sides of the valley - Portavescovo and Burz - where Arabba stands. It will solve the long-standing problem of pedestrians crossing regional road 48 and the Cordevole stream, which for years skiers in both directions of the Sellaronda have always had to cross carrying their skis on their shoulders.

At the head of the project is the company "Arabba Fly S.r.l." which acquired, as recently as last year from "Impianti turistici Boe", the project for the four-seat chairlift; presenting in May of this year the amendment for a six-seat detachable. Total cost of the operation 2 million and 500 thousand euros.

The new chairlift will develop with two stations that will be placed at a relatively low altitude and with a technically undemanding line. The plant will in fact have a length of 425 meters, with a difference in altitude of 31 and an initial hourly capacity, during testing, of 2200 people/hour, which will reach up to 2650 once fully operational. The travel time will be just over 1'30".

If all goes as planned, the chairlift will be operational already by this Christmas.
