Green Pass, Insurance, Alcohol. What are the new rules for the 2021/2022 season

The 2021/2022 ski season will start in a few days, it is therefore important to be updated on the news in force for this season and on all the rules to be respected in order to get on the track without any thought, but only the desire to have fun!

So what are the news of this season? The decree number 40 of 2021 introduces numerous rules of conduct, other innovations will instead be introduced by the districts with a view to avoiding gatherings.

GREEN PASS AND MASKS

The first important change is related to the mandatory Green Pass for all closed ski lifts (such as cable cars). It will be necessary to show the certificate and wear a mask.

The closed systems will also have a capacity limited to 80% (or greater in the case of an orange or red area).

While for open systems, such as eg. chairlifts or ski lifts there will be no restrictions or green passes.

ONLINE SKI PASS

In all the districts it is possible to buy the Skipass online also, a method recommended for everyone, in order to avoid queues and gatherings at the ticket offices.

GREEN PASS E SKI PASS TOGETHER?

The idea was launched by cable car operators in South Tyrol, but other regions will also be able to use this tool.

The privacy guarantor has given the ok and soon you will be able to have Skipass and Green Pass in a single app, in order to make the control procedure more fluid and at the same time not to record any sensitive data of the skier.

MANDATORY INSURANCE

From 1 January 2022, all skiers must have insurance that covers damage caused to people or property.

It can be purchased together with the Skipass, the installers will have to offer this service. In fact, insurance was always offered even in past years, at a cost of about € 1-2 per day, and has now been made mandatory.

In the absence of the policy, there is a risk of a penalty between € 100 and € 150.

NO ALCOOL OR DRUGS

The ski slopes are gradually becoming more and more common to the normal roads that we travel daily by car. Even on the slopes, therefore, it will not be possible to ski under the effects of alcohol, the competent bodies will be able to carry out alcohol tests at the ski resorts to verify the sobriety of all skiers.

The same goes for toxicological substances.

There is a risk of penalties ranging from € 250 to € 1000.

SPEED LIMITS

It will be necessary to respect the limits and signs with all the safety requirements indicated.
The decree states that it is necessary to "adapt your pace to the conditions of the equipment used, the technical characteristics of the track and the crowding conditions of the same"

PRECEDENCE AND OVERTAKING

On the track it will no longer be mandatory to give priority to the right, but it is necessary to pay attention to the intersections to those arriving from both left and right and to moderate the speed.

The absence of precedence implies that, if a clash occurs that causes damage, all those involved will be equally guilty. You can overtake on the right or left, both upstream and downstream, keeping "a distance that avoids hindering the overtaken".

HELMET REQUIRED FOR MINORS

The authorities have made it compulsory for all minors under 18 to wear a helmet. As we had already reported in this article, this rule will also come into force from 1 January 2022, although Rent and Go has long been offering helmets to all children, recognizing the importance of this personal safety measure.
