In Madonna di Campiglio, on the other hand, for nostalgics of the Emperor of Austria and the atmosphere of bygone days, the Habsburg Carnival evokes the atmospheres of Central Europe at the end of the nineteenth century.
Parades and balls in period costume envelop the Trentino resort in a magical princely atmosphere, recalling the imperial couple formed by Franz Joseph and his consort Sissi who used to spend pleasant days here.
The program includes theatrical performances, moments dedicated to historical insights and parties aimed instead at children. Particularly spectacular are the costumes that the participants will wear in the opening procession: a triumph of refined fabrics, elegant shapes and dazzling colors that will accompany the most beautiful dress of all, the regal one, worn by the woman who will impersonate Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria, Sissi.
The festival closes with the traditional Grand Ball of the Emperor at the Hofer hall of the Hotel Des Alpes. The sparkling atmosphere of the splendid location frames the grand Habsburg buffet, dances with live orchestra, melodies and courtships of another time, recreating the magic and fascinating regalness of bygone days, in the company of the descendants of the imperial house.
In Bormio, finally, the classic appointment with the “carnevàl di mat” returns, which will be held on February 15 in the Lombard resort with the entire day dedicated to the tradition and colors of Carnival.
