2021 ALPINE SKI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: CORTINA TRIES AGAIN
The referendum did not in fact achieve great success (less than half of those entitled to vote went to the polls), but in any case Cortina does not intend to give up and indeed is relaunching by once again applying to host the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2021. Perhaps also owing to the recent disappointments collected over the years, there was not the popular push hoped for by the mayor and promoters: however, the "YES" prevailed with almost 60% of the votes and so Cortina is once again in the running.
The Alpine World Ski Championships could be the "catalyst" needed to modernize the slopes and facilities of a resort as prestigious as it has remained backward, over the years, from a technological standpoint.
