WE START AGAIN!!! CALL-UPS FOR THE FIRST ALPINE SKI WORLD CUP RACE HAVE BEEN ISSUED
FISI has released the list of our girls who will take part in the opening race of the 2016 World Cup, Saturday, October 24, on the Austrian glacier of Sölden (first run at 9:30, second run at 12:45). The Azzurri contingent will be the maximum allowed by the rules - which equals ten athletes - thus equaling Austria, the only other Team that will field such a high number of competitors. The athletes engaged will be: Nadia Fanchini, Federica Brignone, Irene Curtoni, Manuela Moelgg, Marta Bassino, Francesca Marsaglia, Nicole Agnelli, Elena Curtoni, Karoline Pichler and Sofia Goggia. Fanchini, Brignone and most likely Irene Curtoni, because of the withdrawals of Tina Maze, Kathrin Zettel and Jessica Lindell-Vikerby, will start in the merit group within the first 15, while Moelgg, Bassino, Marsaglia, Agnelli and Elena Curtoni will be in the second group. Beyond bib number 30, there will be Pichler and Goggia.
