Ski insurance: third-party liability cover is compulsory on Italian slopes.
Since 1 January 2022, anyone using alpine ski slopes in Italy must have valid third-party liability insurance. If you already hold suitable cover, you do not need to purchase another policy.
ITASnow is an ITAS Mutua product for snow sports. Different plans offer liability cover and may include medical and rescue expenses and additional benefits, depending on the selected package and duration.

Cycling insurance: extra peace of mind on your ride.
A cycling trip or a day on an e-bike deserves preparation for unexpected events too. ITAS Active is an ITAS Mutua multi-risk policy for recreational sports, including leisure cycling, subject to the policy terms.
Plans include third-party liability and personal accident cover. Depending on the package, other benefits such as expense reimbursement and legal expenses cover may be available. ITAS also advertises family discounts, subject to purchase conditions.

Ski and cycling insurance: the essentials.
Is ski insurance compulsory in Italy?
Yes. Valid third-party liability insurance is required on Italian alpine ski slopes. An existing policy can satisfy this requirement if it provides adequate coverage.
Is ITASnow automatically included in ski rental?
No. ITASnow insurance is not automatically included with ski equipment rental. You can activate it online before your ski day or directly at a Rent and Go rental shop when collecting your equipment.
Is insurance compulsory for recreational cycling?
There is no general requirement equivalent to the alpine skiing rule for ordinary leisure cycling. ITAS Active is optional, although specific activities or events may have their own rules.
Does ITAS Active cover e-bikes and downhill?
Coverage depends on the policy definitions and exclusions. Downhill is listed as excluded in the published terms we consulted. Check current terms for e-bikes and particular disciplines.
Where can I check limits, exclusions and duration?
