How much does it cost to rent skis? 2026/27 prices for adults and children

How much does ski rental cost for a day, a weekend or a week-long ski holiday? Prices depend on the resort, the equipment category and the number of rental days. One important detail: the longer you rent, the lower the average daily cost. So you should not simply multiply the one-day rate by the number of days of your holiday.

To help you plan, we compared the official Rent and Go price lists for winter 2026/2027 in seven resorts: Livigno, Bormio, Madonna di Campiglio, Sestriere, Valdaora (Kronplatz), Canazei and Courmayeur. Below are examples for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers, and children, including skis, boots and a helmet.

What is included in the ski rental price?

To budget accurately for your ski holiday, consider the following equipment:

  • Skis: available in different categories, from easy-to-use beginner models to higher-performance skis.
  • Ski boots: in the examples below, we use standard boots or the least expensive compatible option.
  • Helmet: compulsory for skiers and snowboarders of all ages on Italian slopes, including adults.
  • Ski poles: usually included when you rent skis. At some resorts they cost €1 per day.

All prices in the following tables are per person and include skis, ski boots and a helmet. An online booking discount may be available on the prices shown.

How much does ski rental cost for beginners?

If you are taking your first turns or prefer easy, manageable equipment, the most affordable option is generally the entry-level category, called Basic, Economy or something similar depending on the shop.

Here is the total rental cost for 1 day, a 2-day weekend and 6 days:

Resort1 day2 days6 days
Livigno35 €59 €128 €
Bormio35 €64 €157 €
Madonna di Campiglio65 €95 €180 €
Sestriere36 €70 €178 €
Valdaora – Kronplatz38 €74 €185 €
Canazei – Val di Fassa38 €70 €159 €
Courmayeur37 €71 €178 €

For example, in Livigno a complete Basic rental costs €35 for one day, but just €128 for six days: an average of around €21 per day.

How much does ski rental cost for intermediate skiers?

If you can confidently ski blue and red runs and want more stability and precision, you can choose the category immediately above the entry level: usually Intermediate or an equivalent category.

Resort1 day2 days6 days
Livigno41 €70 €158 €
Bormio40 €71 €176 €
Madonna di Campiglio73 €115 €230 €
Sestriere40 €77 €200 €
Valdaora – Kronplatz42 €81 €207 €
Canazei – Val di Fassa43 €77 €192 €
Courmayeur41 €78 €200 €

For example, in Bormio, six days with Intermediate skis, standard boots and a helmet cost €176 in total, compared with €40 for one day.

How much does ski rental cost for advanced skiers?

For skiers tackling more demanding runs and looking for more responsive skis, the price lists include categories such as Advanced, Top, Intermediate Plus or their equivalents. For this table we selected the category above Intermediate, not the most expensive one: many shops also offer Platinum, Diamond and premium models.

Resort1 day2 days6 days
Livigno48 €85 €188 €
Bormio44 €82 €208 €
Madonna di Campiglio80 €135 €260 €
Sestriere46 €90 €232 €
Valdaora – Kronplatz48 €93 €239 €
Canazei – Val di Fassa51 €90 €226 €
Courmayeur47 €90 €232 €

In Sestriere, for example, Advanced skis, boots and a helmet cost €46 for one day or €232 for six days. If you want an even higher ski category, you can check prices and availability directly while booking.

How much does ski rental cost for children? Junior and Kids prices

Children’s equipment generally costs less. Kids and Junior categories are mainly based on ski length and available sizes; older or more experienced children may need Junior Racing equipment, which has different prices.

These examples include Junior/Kids skis, Junior boots and a helmet:

Resort1 day2 days6 days
Livigno24 €44 €104 €
Bormio23 €41 €97 €
Madonna di Campiglio50 €75 €140 €
Sestriere23 €44 €109 €
Valdaora – Kronplatz25 €47 €118 €
Canazei – Val di Fassa24 €40 €98 €
Courmayeur23 €44 €109 €

Size ranges are not identical in every shop. For example, the Livigno price refers to Junior skis measuring 130–150 cm and Junior boots; in Madonna di Campiglio, we used the smaller of the listed Junior boot sizes. Livigno also offers a category for children up to 120 cm with a helmet already included in the ski price, which may cost even less.

Renting is especially practical for families: each season you can choose skis and boots that fit your children, without buying new equipment as they grow.

Why does a six-day rental cost less than six one-day rentals?

One of the most common questions concerns the one-day price initially displayed on the website: if one day costs €40, will six days cost €240? No. Rent and Go price lists use progressive rates, so the average daily price decreases as the rental period gets longer.

Take Intermediate skis, boots and a helmet in Bormio as an example:

  • 1 day: €40 in total.
  • 2 days: €71 in total.
  • 6 days: €176 in total, or around €29.33 per day.

Six separate one-day rentals would add up to €240. By selecting a six-day rental instead, you pay €64 less than that calculation, even before any online discounts.

Our tip: when you visit Rent and Go, select the resort and your full holiday dates straight away. The system automatically calculates the correct rate for your rental period rather than simply multiplying the one-day price.

How to save on ski rental: book online in advance

In addition to the savings on multi-day rentals, you can get online discounts of up to 20% by booking directly through Rent and Go. The actual discount depends on the shop, rental period, duration, products and services selected: not every booking qualifies for the same discount.

Booking in advance also makes your holiday easier to organise:

  • Availability: once your booking is confirmed, equipment in your chosen category is reserved for the selected dates, which is especially useful at busy times.
  • Clear quote: see the actual total for one or more skiers, including the rate for your selected rental period.
  • Less time at the counter: enter skiers’ details in advance and speed up collection at the shop.
  • More choice: booking early gives you a better chance of finding the equipment categories and sizes you want.
