La Villa in Badia ski area - the central point. The La Villa ski area (German: Stern) has a historic centre and an ancient castle, “Ciastel Colz”. The small village, located in the centre of Val Badia, is therefore the central point of the Alta Badia ski area. From La Villa, the ski lifts can be reached easily, either with the free shuttle or directly from the village centre. La Villa also has its own ski school and three Rent and Go ski rental shops. Here everyone can rent skis or other winter sports equipment to try, with several different types available. The Alta Badia ski area forms part of Dolomiti Superski. Altogether there are 130 kilometres of well-prepared slopes, of which 70 kilometres are classified as “easy level”, 53 kilometres as “medium level” and 7 kilometres as “difficult level”. 51 lift facilities (30 chairlifts, 13 ski lifts, 8 cable cars) have the capacity to carry 78,100 people per hour up the mountain. Well-trained and courageous skiers choose the black World Cup slope “Gran Risa – La Villa” for their descent. A snowmaking system guarantees snow, while numerous mountain huts and restaurants offer local specialities.
