If you start your descent from the Monte Cavallo plateau at 2,100m altitude, you feel that nature is just that bit nearer – you can enjoy both a view of the South Tyrol Alps and Vipiteno lying idyllically in the valley.
In order to best enjoy sweeping down the 15 kilometres of ski-slopes, there are some seasoned ski-hire depots where you can rent suitable skis. For a rustic hut atmosphere and a little après-ski mood there are guest houses such as Enzianhütte, Sterzingerhaus or Roßstodl.
Many other attractions plus the town of Vipiteno make the ski region of Monte Cavallo a popular holiday destination.
