Where is the ideal curve?

Kristian Ghedina no longer competes, but even his private skiing demands are exacting. Turns must be smooth and fast. In this interview he tells us his thoughts on this, alongside some advice for all skiers.

What do you enjoy the most when you ski?
 I love drawing the perfect curve and finding the ideal line to do so. Even at high speed.

This is not easy on crowded slopes.
 Exactly, that is why I prefer skiing early in the morning. As soon as the centres open I ski for one or two hours. On a piste that has just been groomed you can see your tracks, like a drawing. When the piste starts to fill up I prefer to stop.

Which pistes are your favourites?
 At home in Cortina there are some steep slopes, I like those a lot.

What skis do you use for those slopes?
 1.83m Super Gs.

What advice would you give to the common skier?
 You must always have well prepared skis. This is very important. The skis you use must be right for the terrain and your style: today's choice of skis is vast, there are skis for every occasion.
